"Dog Years" by Gunter Grass was first published in 1965. It was first published in German, and then got translated into English by Ralph Manheim.
It is the final novel in the author's Danzig Trilogy. The other two novels in the Danzig Trilogy are "The Drum and Cat" and "Mouse."
