Surprisingly little biographical information is available about Eddie Lane, who operated a nine-piece orchestra in the New York City area during the 1930s through the 1950s. Featured from 1934 to 1938 was pianist Cy Walters. Lane's orchestra replaced Guy Lombardo at the Roosevelt Hotel in 1957 for a seven-month engagment. He is also co-author of the popular song, ''Bless You (For Being an Angel).'' Lane later went on to become managing director of the Berkshire Hotel. This lovely rendition was recorded in 1931, featuring a vocal by Eddie Lane himself.
