Batman: Arkham Asylum - Gameplay Walkthrough - Part 1 - Asylum (PC)

2016-11-06 37

This is part 1 of my Batman: Arkham Asylum gameplay walkthrough for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC! In this part, we see Batman driving to the Arkham Asylum in his Batmobile, as he has Joker with him. Batman is taking Joker to the Asylum, to be incarcerated. As we are in the Asylum, we meet Warden Quincy Sharp and Frank Boles. As we walk through the Asylum, we see some of Jokers thugs and other villains, who have history with the Bat such as Killer Croc. We get deeper into the prison and meet with Officer Jim Gordon and watch how things play out with Joker, as Batman believes that he is up to something, given that fact that he let himself be captured too easily.\r

As the guards walk Joker to his cell, Joker trips (acting), and catches the guards off-guard, and attacks them and gets lose of the hand-cuffs. He breaks free, as Harley Quinn already subdued the Warden, and allows Joker to be free from the prison. A furious Batman breaks the window and tries to stop the Joker, but the Joker has his thugs keep him at bay. We fight off the thugs, but Joker is nowhere to be seen after entering the next room. We move through the prison to find Joker, to see what he is really up to.\r

Written by veteran Batman writer Paul Dini, Arkham Asylum is based on the long-running comic book mythos. In the games main storyline, Batmans archenemy, the Joker, instigates an elaborate plot to seize control of Arkham Asylum and trap Batman inside with many of his incarcerated foes. With Joker threatening to detonate hidden bombs around fictional Gotham City, Batman is forced to fight his way through the asylums inmates and put an end to the Jokers plans. Most of the games leading characters are voiced by actors who have appeared in other media based on the DC Animated Universe; Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill, and Arleen Sorkin reprised their roles as Batman, the Joker, and his sidekick Harley Quinn respectively. The game is presented from the third-person perspective with a primary focus on Batmans combat and stealth abilities, detective skills, and gadgets that can be used in combat and exploration.\r

The game received critical acclaim—particularly for its narrative—and won several awards, including Best Action Adventure game, Best Game, and Game of the Year from different media outlets. It held the Guinness World Record for Most Critically Acclaimed Superhero Game Ever. A Game of the Year edition was released on March 26, new, and an OS X version was released in November new. Arkham Asylum s success launched a series of Batman: Arkham sequels, beginning in October new with Batman: Arkham City.\r
