RIDE - PS3 PS4 Xbox360 XboxOne PC - RIDE - http://ebay.to/1HlwTcE
RIDE first gameplay - or actually a replay because I forgot to record as I was playing! This is the first time attack you will face at the beginning of the World Tour for naked bikes up to 700cc.
I had already played some of the early races which were pretty easy and uneventful, so I had earned enough to tune the Triumph Street Triple a little. I added a few goodies and kitted my rider out with some new gear too.
This time attack actually proved to be the first challenging part of the World Tour and this was my third attempt to achieve the Gold time. As you can see, my riding is not the smoothest at the moment but this was first time out on this track so I was basically having to learn braking points, the circuit and the bike's handling. Hopefully future videos will see improvements in my style and speed!
Thoughts on the game? Well, the graphics on the PS3 have been criticized and although it definitely looks better on the currrent gen consoles and PC, it looks good enough not to detract from the overall experience. Some circuits look better than others, and replay graphics occasionally look a bit wishy washy in the TV camera view but by and large it looks pretty decent, both in terms of the bikes and the environments. This is a Milestone game and they are not renowned for cutting edge graphics on their bike games so I wasn't disappointed myself.
As far as gameplay goes, it's been a positive experience so far - it's enjoyable and the multitude of settings should allow players of all abilities to jump on a bike and start racing easily enough. For this video I was playing on Semi-Pro Physics with most assists turned off. I have found this to be about right for me for starting out. The bikes are relatively easy to ride, so inexperienced riders should be able to enjoy the game as they learn but riding fast enough to defeat the AI and beat many of the time trials, elite events and track days will require skill and practice. Even on Easy difficulty, (one up from Very Easy, the lowest setting) the AI can be pretty quick, but if you match the difficulty level and physics to your own ability it will make for some very close racing. This is a good thing.
People have complained about the load times in game, and they are surprisingly long, but again, I don't have a problem with that really.
Overall, for the amount of content I think the game is worth buying, especially if you love bikes. So far I haven't experienced any of the bugs and glitches that have been widely publicized on the web, so, fingers crossed it will stay that way.
