Woman claims she was virtually groped inside VR game

A woman writing on a post on Medium.com claims that she was virtually groped while playing HTC Vive VR game QuiVr.

Writing under the pseudonym Jordan Belamire, the writer said she was killing zombies while playing the game with her husband at her brother-in-law’s place. All was going well until they hopped onto the multiplayer, where they met BigBro442.

She says that when this creep heard she was a woman, he turned to her and began virtually rubbing her virtual chest. Belamire cried for him to stop. He didn’t. She writes that Bigbro442 began chasing her and making virtual pinching motions at her chest.

Next, he started virtually groping her virtual down under. And she writes that while it was VR, the experience was scary.

The game’s developer told CNN, “Let’s make sure sure this never happens again.”

Writing on UploadVR, the developers explained they adjusted the game’s personal bubble setting so it’s activated instantaneously. This acts as a shield against digital creeps like Bigbro442, by muting them and making them disappear from your game.
