Republicans are making it clear that they plan to keep looking into Hillary Clinton’s handling of emails even if she becomes president.
In fact, a recent Vice News report about Clinton’s emails states that “Offices for the Republican chairmen of the House and Senate Judiciary Committees and the House Oversight Committee all confirmed to VICE News that further investigations are coming after the Nov. 8 election.”
Jason Chaffetz, the Utah Congressman who heads the latter committee, expressed a similar intention in an interview last month stating, “Hillary Clinton created this problem...I’d be derelict in my chairmanship if I didn’t pursue this with all the vigor I have.”
And more recently, he is quoted as saying, “...we’ve got two years' worth of material already lined up. She has four years of history at the State Department, and it ain’t good.”
House Speaker Paul Ryan has voiced his support of these actions, citing “troubling developments in the...Clinton email scandal.”
Meanwhile, her supporters have accused the Republicans of "political attacks" and of misusing taxpayer dollars.
The FBI’s investigation into Clinton, which ended months ago, concluded that no criminal charges would be pursued against her.
