Karan Johar will surely heave a sigh of relief today. Days after MNS chief Raj Thackeray vowed to not let Johar’s directorial venture ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ release in theatres because it starred Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, Raj took back the protest.

From what we have heard, Raj took this decision after a meeting with Maharashtra CM Devendra, Johar and Film & Television Producers Guild of India president, Mukesh Bhatt. Mukesh Bhatt also said that Karan Johar had promised to run a special slate honouring the martyrs of the Uri terror attacks before the start of the movie as a tribute to Indian Army soldiers. The MNS had earlier decided to protest against the film in the aftermath of the terror attack on the Indian Army base in Uri, which had provoked a strong anti-Pakistan sentiment.

‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Fawad Khan, will release as scheduled this Diwali.
