Solar Storm Alert Massive Coronal Hole at the Sun to Blast Earth with Solar Storms.

2016-10-25 10

GEOMAGNETIC STORM UNDERWAY: A G1-class geomagnetic storm is underway on Oct. 25th as Earth enters a stream of solar wind flowing from a coronal hole on the sun. Storm levels could intensify to G2 as our planet moves deeper into the stream on Oct. 25-26. http://spaceweather.com/

A massive coronal hole is now turning into a geoeffective Earth facing position.
The solar wind speed increased to above 600 km/sec and going.

When this same coronal hole feature faced Earth in late September, the solar wind speed increased to above 700 km/s and brought along with it periods of Moderate (G2) geomagnetic storming. It is very possible that the same outcome will take place again.

Aurora sky watchers should all be alert for visible aurora during the next several nights.

A G2 (Moderate) geomagnetic storm watch has been issued for 24-26 Oct 2016 (UTC days) due to anticipated coronal hole high speed stream effects.
