"Deep Rivers" by Jose Maria Arguedas was first published in 1958. It was originally published in Spanish as "Los rios profundos."
It was the third novel by the author. The book was the winner of the Peruvian National Culture Award. The interest in the novel has continued to grow since its publication. The book has been translated into several languages.
