Nate and Ray accidentally land in Feudal Japan after Nate discovers he has powers. Sara convinces Vixen that Rory is not a murderer, so they all agree to help Nate master his powers and defend the Japanese village from the Shogun and his army of samurai warriors. In the meantime, Jax and Stein find a secret compartment on the ship when they stay behind to fix it.
Focuses on time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter, who has to recruit a rag-tag team of heroes and villains to help prevent an apocalypse that could impact not only Earth, but all of time.
