Woman Has Narrow Escape After Car Plunges Into Pond During Parking

A 68-year-old was recently rescued in Arlington, Massachusetts after driving her car into a pond allegedly during parking.

A 68-year-old woman was recently rescued in Arlington, Massachusetts after driving her car into a pond while parking, according to authorities.
A news release by the Arlington Police Department states, "On Friday, Oct. 14, at approximately 1:02 p.m., a...Medford woman driving a Ford Edge SUV was allegedly attempting to back into a parking spot on Linwood Circle when she drove over a curb and into Spy Pond."
A dramatic video captured the rescue as several bystanders jumped into the water and helped pull her out to safety. 
The press release notes, "The victim was conscious and alert when she was pulled from the water. She was cold, but otherwise unhurt. The vehicle is completely submerged in the water."
The local fire department is working with the police department to remove the vehicle.
