House Speaker Paul Ryan has, according to inside sources, discussed rescinding his endorsement of Donald Trump.
Over the weekend, the Trump campaign sustained a major hit with the release of a recording where Donald Trump can be heard making sexually inappropriate comments about women.
House Speaker Paul Ryan publicly denounced the behavior and uninvited the presidential contender from appearing at a Wisconsin event, but, according to inside sources, he also privately discussed rescinding his endorsement of Trump, reports Politico.
It is said that no decision on the matter has been made thus far, though a conference call with Republican members of the House of Representatives is slated for late morning on Monday.
If Ryan does take back his endorsement, he would not be the first, notes the Washington Post.
A number of highly placed Republicans have been quite upfront about their disavowal of Trump, with some even suggesting he withdraw from the race.
