Donald Trump reportedly told the Washington Post that he would ‘never withdraw’ from the presidential race despite growing calls for him to quit
Donald Trump remains defiant in the wake of more people--including Republicans--calling for him to quit the presidential race.
The controversy erupted on Friday with the release of a recording where the businessman can be heard making sexually inappropriate comments about women.
In the wake of growing calls to withdraw, Trump told the Washington Post in a phone interview on Saturday that he has no plans to quit. He commented, “I’d never withdraw. I’ve never withdrawn in my life...No, I’m not quitting this race. I have tremendous support.”
Trump has released a video apology online, “I’ve never said I’m a perfect person nor pretended to be someone that I’m not. I’ve said and done things I regret, and the words released today on this more than a decade old video are one of them. Anyone who knows me knows these words don’t reflect who I am. I said it, I was wrong, and I apologize.”
