ICRC tackles mental trauma in northern Nigeria

More than two million people have fled their homes in north-eastern Nigeria since the insurgency began in 2009. According to the UN Refugee agency, 60% of those displaced have witnessed killings or physical violence as well as the destruction of their homes and communities, and many are suffering from psychological and psychosocial problems as a result of these extreme conditions.
