This is easily one of the cheesiest death scenes in movie history, but when I first watched the movie on TV more than 30 years ago - it was late at night, my family had long gone to bed (where I should`ve been as well) - the movie scared me sh*tless. even though the version shown on (West) German TV in the spring of 1985 was one from which most of the overly cruel scenes had been purged.
