When Tim Kaine referenced Donald Trump’s statement asserting Mexicans are criminals and rapists, Mike Pence responded, "Senator, you whipped out that Mexican thing again."
Tweets began to fly and included, “Pence whipped out that Mexican thing while denying systemic bias in our criminal justice system.”
Another said Pence’s comment, “…is now my all-time favorite debate line.”
Pence did draw some support, such as from the Twitter user who wrote, “…anything to divert the attention away from Pence dominating that debate!”
There was an individual who took the conversation beyond social media, setting up the website thatmexicanthing.org, which forwards users to the Voto Latino Action Network.
