A video taken from the International Space Station late on Monday afternoon shows Hurricane Matthew’s truly menacing intensity and size.Â
Situated roughly 250 miles above the storm, the cameras captured the Category 4 storm hours before it made landfall in Haiti.Â
When Hurricane Matthew hit, it did so with winds whipping at up to 140 miles an hour and dumped dangerous amounts of rain.Â
Experts believe that Haiti, which has yet to recover from the 2010 earthquake, will be the hardest hit, but the hurricane poses potentially significant threats to Cuba and the Dominican Republic as well.
