The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society, released November 1968, is the 6th album by the Kinks and last to feature the original lineup.
Although it did not chart, the album is thought of as one of the most influential and important of the group. Originally planned as a two record set, the Kinks’ label, Pye Records rejected the plan and after a 12 song album was initially released, settled on the 15 track album that is found today
