Dave Mott was taking his dog on an early morning walk at Whitecliffe Park, near Poole, Dorset, on September 19, when he saw he wasn’t the only one enjoying being out in the fresh air. A sika deer was also at the harbour’s edge, prancing (or stotting, to use the technical term) along the firm mud flats. Mott said the deer likely swam across from the nature reserve on nearby Brownsea Island at low tide. Credit: David Mott
