A boat filled with African migrants capsized Wednesday in the Mediterranean Sea near the Egyptian city of Alexandria, killing at least 42 people, Egyptian authorities said. The Egyptian Army said that it had "thwarted an illegal immigration attempt." A Health Ministry spokesman, Khaled Megahed, said 150 people had been rescued from the water and there were more to come. A total of 600 people were aboard the boat when it sank near Cairo, according to Egypt’s official news agency, MENA.
