Two-month-old infant Ava Schowalter was shot near Milwaukee, Wisconsin, after her family was involved in a suspected road rage incident; she is expected to survive.
A suspected road-rage-fueled shooting near Milwaukee, Wisconsin resulted in the injury of an infant.
WITI reports that the incident occurred on I-43 around 5:00 pm on Sunday.
A GoFundMe page for the victim states, “The Schowalter family was on their way home from the zoo when someone shot into their car hitting their 2-month old daughter Ava.”
Though the bullet traveled through the car seat and almost hit her spine, the baby underwent surgery and is expected to survive.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office has shared at least one photo showing the bullet hole in the car’s door.
Authorities are currently trying to identify the suspects, notes CBS News.
