Alabama is 2-0 on the season. They blew out USC in week one by the score of 52-6. The Crimson Tide comes off the 38-10 home victory to Western Kentucky as a -27 point betting favorite. The total went under 59 points. Defensively the team held the Hilltoppers to 239 yards of offense with only 23 rushing yardage on 22 carries. Quarterback Jalen Hurts completed 23 of 36 passes for 287 yards and two touchdowns. Alabama only ran for 3.6 yards per carry on 38 carries.

Mississippi opened their year losing to Florida St 45-34 as they blew a 28-6 lead late in the second quarter. The Rebels bounced back in week two by defeating FCS school Wofford 38-13 as a -43 point favorite. The total went under 56 ½ points. Ole Miss held the Terries to only 72 passing yards while the FCS school ran 57 times to average 4.1 yards per carry. Rebels quarterback Chad Kelly completed 20 of 27 passes for 219 yards and three touchdowns.
