This video illustrates how to create a picture in picture effect in sony vegas 11.
1. Open a new project in Sony vegas
2.Click on the match media settings button to set your video properties to match the video file you will be using.
3.Import your media files (videos,tracks)
4.Drag and drop them to the timeline
5.Select the second event and press U on the keyboard to separate the audio from the video Select the audio and delete it.
6.1. Right click the video track and add another video track above it.Drag the video event to the upper video track. Adjust the duration and the position of the event relative to other event on the lower track.
7. Click the track motion button on the upper track.Position and resize the track area(place the video where you would like it)
8.Observe how the two videos play simultaneously
9.You can always resize and re-position your video on the upper track.
10. I have chosen to fade in the video as it enters into view and fade it out towards the end. Do this by dragging the small upper blue triangle at the top of the video event.
11.Adjust the fade type by right clicking the fade offset.
12.Preview your movie and enjoy!
