Native Americans united by oil pipeline fight

2016-09-09 2

Over a thousand American Indians are protesting the construction of a giant pipeline on land they consider sacred ground in North Dakota. They have lodged a lawsuit to alter the proposed 1,200 mile (1,900-kilometre) pipeline's path. A federal judge is expected to decide September 9 whether to grant a temporary injunction to stop the construction. The construction company, Dakota Access Pipeline, declined to comment.
