Quinn Boylan wanted to volunteer during his two-week vacation and was drawn to helping kids in Ukraine. Not sure what to do initially, Quinn finally decided on providing orphans with music lessons and essential supplies. The ukulele was the perfect instrument, because it's tiny for travel and easy to learn. Prior to the trip, fundraising efforts raised $5,000 and 115 ukeleles to bring for the lessons. Clearly, his idea worked because the kids loved learning how to play music. Now, Ukuleles for Ukraine is a registered non-profit.
If this strikes a chord with you, there is always a need to donate ukuleles, volunteer skills, or adopt any of the orphaned kids in the video.
