Thirteen people were shot to death in Chicago over a violent Labor Day weekend as murders this year climbed over 500, reports the Chicago Tribune. Out of the three holiday weekends this summer, Labor Day Weekend was the city’s deadliest. Homicides in Chicago this year have risen to levels not seen since the 1990s, when killings peaked at more than 900 annually.
