MANCHESTER, UK — With humanity so reliant on machines, it’s only a matter of time before technology takes charge of our sex lives.
Robotics researchers and experts are converging in a conference in Manchester from September 7 to 9, and one of the topics they’re set to take on are sex robots, reports the Observer.
With human partners, the decision to have sex is heavily influenced by mood and consent. Though even when these two factors align, the results can often be disappointing. The case is not so with robots whose primary purpose is to please.
Sexbots are can be programmed or customized to suit specific needs, and thus guarantees satisfaction each and every time. It would be relatively easy to get obsessed with a robotic partner, and to make the necessary life changes to feed the addiction to artificial intelligence. Sex with robots may even replace human intercourse altogether.
For now, though, only those with thousands of dollars in disposable income can indulge in this lifestyle. The rest may have to wait until the trend becomes mainstream.
