Dawn of the Great Divide would be leading cowboy hero Buck Jones' last film before his life and career was tragically cut short. The film is an excellent final chapter in a lengthy body of work that Jones amassed while in Hollywood. Based on a James Oliver Curwood adventure novel, Jones must protect a wagon that needs to cross through unsettled land. Jones is backed up by the other Rough Riders, Raymond Hatton and Rex Bell; but as usual Jones is the star. A particular high point is his exhilarating showdown with villain Roy Barcroft. Dawn of the Great Divide is a rousing and fiery western
