Gabriella Guardado, 22, surprised her stepdad, David Lynde, with the papers as a late birthday gift on August 21
In video capturing the touching moment, David is moved to tears after realizing she had presented him with adoption papers
The two are seen embracing one another while other family members become emotional at their Florida home
Gabriella told Daily Mail Online she wanted David to adopt her when she was younger but that her biological father would not sign off on it
She also said David taking the role as her father over the years when he did not have to meant more to her 'than words can describe
