Youtube star Issa Rae is given a series order by HBO to a comedy called “Insecure,” that will be written by and feature comedian Issa Rae herself. Issa Rae has gained Internet fame for her popular, award-winning web series “The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl,” and has more than 200,000 subscribers and over 20 million views on her YouTube channel. The series Insecure is about the friendship of two modern day black women, and all of their uncomfortable experiences and racy tribulations.“Insecure” is one of many female-centric comedies at HBO and also marks a continuation in diverse casting for the network and many are awaiting to get a glimpse of Issa's hilarious work.
