Election The Startling Accuracy of Referring to Politicians as ‘Psychopaths’

Aug 27, 2016 – In this presidential election season where, as usual, the fur is flying and name-calling is in full swing, one invective seems to be gaining currency — psychopath.
While discussing the current crisis of our country with a relative, their answer to the situation on Medicare, medical cost, housing, employment, business moving out of the country, crime, drugs, illegals, etc. was to vote the current politicians out of office.

How many time has that been done? And things still get worst and worst. Lies, lies and more lies. I said I am certainly not going to vote for a person who has a track record of crimes, lies and bribes. My relative is.

Their fear is voting in a person who in their mind sounds like Hitler. Forget the fact we have a person that was in office and now running for a higher office that has acted like Hitler. Clinton even has a nickname used behind her back that suggests this. Hildabeast is one.

Gun control, plots that over threw governments, guns, weapons illegal sent to foreign citizens not just government. Billions of dollars sent to countries that was waisted, in so many ways, corrupt leaders pockets etc. Took bribes not to help the U.S. citizens but big business, and other corrupt governments. Left U.S. citizens to die in foreign countries. Instead of a video drone sent to watch then die, a drone could have been used, armed with a missile.

While it’s tempting to dismiss this phenomenon as mere venting by angry voters, the rantings of bloggers, it is worth at least asking the question: could they be right? If these pundits mean that the targeted office-seekers are evil or “crazy,” probably not. But if they are pointing out that politicians and psychopaths share certain characteristics, they could be on to something.

Psychopathy is a psychological condition based on well-established diagnostic criteria, which include lack of remorse and empathy, a sense of grandiosity, superficial charm, conning and manipulative behavior, and refusal to take responsibility for one’s actions, among others. Psychopaths are not all the same; particular aspects may be predominate in different people. And, although some psychopaths are violent men and women (Hillary punched Bill in the eye, Bodyguards complain how hateful she sounds off to then) with long criminal histories (whitewater, emails etc.) not all are.

It’s important to understand that psychopathic behavior and affect exist on a continuum; there are those who fall into the grey area between “normal” people and true psychopaths.
