DVB's Yamin Oo speaks with Yeshua Moser-Puangsuwan, an expert on Burma working with the International Campaign to Ban Landmines.
Mr Moser-Puangsuwan discusses positive steps taken recently, but describes why we haven't seen the beginning of eradication efforts in ernest, despite pleas for international assistance made by the Burmese government.
He suggests that the government and ethnic rebels could reignite the country's faltering peace processes could with a pledge to end landmine use.
