British actor and director Alan Rickman, most popularly known for his portrayal of Snape in Harry Potter, passed away at the age of 69. He had been battling against cancer. After news of his demise came out, JK Rowling Tweeted, "There are no words to express how shocked and devastated I am to hear of Alan Rickman's death. He was a magnificent actor and a wonderful man." He is also know for numerable other films such as Die Hard and Love Actually, as well as many theatrical performances. May his soul rest in peace.
