A Philadelphia woman seems to have been trying to set the record for “most reckless driver” when she was caught using both hands to text while steering the car with her feet. The unbelievable clip has made plenty of people angry, many of whom have called for the driver to face legal punishment.
The video, which was filmed by Sarah and Shawn Delong on August 10th, shows the yet-unidentified driver nonchalantly texting – both eyes on her cell phone – while piloting her speeding car with nothing but her feet.
"Someone is going to get killed, that's why I was so mad. You see people on their phones all the time, but that took the cake," Sarah said, noting that her husband, who was driving, continued to follow the woman in disbelief. "For a good 20 minutes we were in her vicinity whether it was beside her or behind her.”
The Delongs decided to take matters into their own hands. "At one point we beeped at her and I yelled 'get off your phone!' And she looked and smirked at me and went right back to doing whatever it was on her phone," Sarah said.
Sarah was able to take down the woman’s license plate number and submit it to Philadelphia police, but the department has its hands tied when it comes to charging her with a crime. According to a police spokesman, a cop would have to catch the woman in the act in order to slap her with a citation.
