HARBOR SPRINGS, MICHIGAN — A Michigan officer responded to a call on Tuesday morning and ended up rescuing a deer.

Harbor Springs officer David Heater reportedly responded to a call off Glenn Road when he came upon a young fawn stuck upside down on a fence.

“It was tired. You could tell it wasn't thrashing around. It had probably been there a long time. It was just stuck there. Not flailing and not kicking,” officer Heater told 9&10 News.

Officer Heater asked the fawn not to kick him while he tried to lift its legs off the fence. After being freed, the animal made a noise then ran away happily.
