Rajouri, Aug 08 (ANI): The Kashmir valley is replete with sepulchres of saints belonging to both Hindus and Muslims. Thousands of devotees thronged the district of Rajouri on the auspicious occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Sufi Saint Lal Din Mudrian Wale, situated in Danna village. Locals believe that the saint was helpful to the poor and spread the message of communal harmony and brotherhood among mankind. Irrespective of their caste and religion, people come together to pay obeisance to the saint and to seek his blessings. The saint was born in Poonch district of the state; however, his burial place lies in Rajouri which is abuzz with devotees these days who have come in to offer their prayers. A community kitchen is also set up during the Urs, where the shrine administration offers free food to the devotees. People take it as a sacred offering and a cure for all ailments. During the Urs, day long prayers are held by the devotees to seek blessings. People from different parts of the state also visit the shrine to offer prayers. The people prayed for peace across their state and country and for the continuance of brotherhood across all communities. It is believed that all their problems and especially those with medical conditions can be cured for life by visiting the shrine. Amity between different communities has been a way of life in India for centuries. And, this is especially visible during fairs and festivals celebrated by people of different religions. The spirit witnessed during the Urs reflects the celebrated age-old communal harmony between the people of different backgrounds in the country.
