Tropical Storm Javier formed off the western coast of Mexico on Sunday, August 7, and the storm is expected to affect Baja California early this week. The National Hurricane Center’s forecast shows the storm hitting the tip of Baja California on Tuesday. The storm also has the potential to become a hurricane as it strengthens over the Pacific Ocean.

The storm already dumped drenching rain on western Mexican states, including in Colima. This video shows the storm near the seaside community of Manzanillo. Credit: YouTube/WebCamsDeMexico
