Gerald Cummings, 38, met an untimely demise this week, while unarmed and holding only a hat in his hands in Brooklyn, New York. Typically, when an unarmed black man is shot, both mainstream and social media go into a frenzy with cries of injustice from groups like Black Lives Matter. However, Cummings’ death is being ignored, and there’s one infuriating reason for the silence. He wasn't a thug killed by police.
