Newlyweds Matt and Sunday Rowan were among the 16 people who perished in a hot air balloon fire that occurred on Saturday morning over Lockhart, Texas, reports Sky News.
The trip, a birthday gift from Sunday to her new husband, was scheduled to depart at 6:45 a.m., but was delayed by about 20 minutes, according to CNN.
Throughout the morning, Sunday was taking and sharing pictures of the adventure, however, her mother said that when they stopped coming, she knew  “...something was terribly wrong.”
Shortly before 7:45, 911 received a distress call regarding the balloon.
It is believed the craft made contact with electrical lines and caught fire just a minute before that emergency alert was sent, notes the Washington Post.
The basket separated from the balloon and fell to the ground, leaving no survivors.
Officials with the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the disaster.
