A hydroplane which rammed into a nearby bridge pier at a Shanghai port Wednesday have killed at least five of the 10 on board the plane's maiden commercial flight.
Rescuers rushed to the scene and got all the 10 people out of water. But there is no report on the conditions of the five sent to nearby hospitals.
The hydroplane was scheduled to fly to neighboring Zhejiang Province to ferry its eight passengers for a tour package.
Authorities have started investigation into the cause of the fatal incident, the first of its kind in China.
