Some members of the California delegation in Cleveland are likely not having the Republican National Convention experience they anticipated.
About a dozen of them were stricken by what health officials suspect is a norovirus outbreak and are now being isolated from other event attendees and workers.
The illness is quick to spread and typically contracted through contaminated water and food, notes KPIX.
Notably, the affected group is staying at the Kalahari Resort, a large water park in Sandusky, Ohio.
Hand sanitizer stations have been set up throughout the hotel, and the California delegation is circulating advise on how to avoid exposure to the virus.
It suggests refraining from shaking hands and sharing food with others.
The origination point of the outbreak has not been identified, but the illness does not appear to have spread beyond those affected in the California delegation.
