Vadodara, July 19 (ANI): Setting an example of communal harmony, Muslim girls were seen applying henna on the hands of the Hindu girls on the occasion of Gauri Vrat festival on Monday. Gauri Vrat, which is observed for five days, is an important ritual performed by unmarried women and young girls. The fast is dedicated to Goddess Parvati. Both the Muslims and the Hindu girls were happy while partaking in the festivity. Legend has it that Goddess Parvati observed this fast to get Lord Shiva as her husband and therefore it is a widespread belief that those who observe Gauri Vrata will get an ideal husband.
