Now nine months old, Jack the wombat joey is growing and learning after being orphaned and injured in a horrible accident with a car. He was taken in by carer Lindy Butcher, who has acted as his foster mother, until he is strong and ready to be released. In the wild, wombats will stay in the pouch until 10 months of age and often grow to be 30kg or more as adults.
