Vorna is a pagan metal band from Tampere, Finland. The band’s music has various influences from black metal to folk and rock. Lyrics are written in Finnish and often deal with themes like nature, myths and struggles of mind.
In early 2014 Vorna took a major leap forward as they started co-operating with Iiro Laitinen and his newly founded company Northern Solitude Entertainment which took over the responsibilities of management and booking. This naturally meant that the band was for the first time truly activating to do live shows and tour. Vorna was the very first band to join the NSE roster but was soon accompanied by fellow Finnish bands such as Thyrien, Lovijatar and Unshine. The first remarkable accomplishment of this new partnership was ”Kuolevan Maan Kulkijat” (”Wanderers of the Dying Land”) -tour in Finland with Thyrien in the autumn 2014.
In 2015, Vorna played their first gigs abroad in Germany and Netherlands together with the black metal act Thyrgrim, as well as in Sweden together with the folk metal band Grimner. At the same time the band started to focus on their second full-length studio album ”Ei valo minua seuraa”, which was mixed by Tuomas Kokko at Electric Fox Studios and mastered by Jaakko Viitalähde at Virtalähde Mastering. The album was released in December 4th 2015, again through Inverse records, and it received praises from the Finnish and the worldwide media. After the release Vorna played several release shows in Finland with Kivimetsän Druidi and Frosttide.
