Gypsy Jazz Student Free Lesson 3

2016-06-29 37

This free lesson will teach you how to play improvisation over 4 bars of A minor.
This phrase has typical Gypsy Jazz idea of using the 9 step of a chord and a very
typical picking pattern Up, Down, Down (UDD). There is a very useful idea of moving
from the 5 of the chord to its 3 or vice versa.
You can also apply it, for example, over 4 bars of Gm (e.g. in Minor Blues), or 4 bars of Dm
(e.g. in "Tchavolo Swing"). You simply transpose it to the chord's position you want to play over.
It is very useful. Apply the ideas in this lesson in your improvisations.
