Jammu, June 27 (ANI): A two-day mass recruitment drive under the scheme 'Udaan' was held in Jammu to hire the educated unemployed youth in the region. Over 200 candidates were selected during the event held at Polytechnic for Women College in Shiv Nagar area. The selected candidates will be imparted training for next three months along with free accommodation, food, health insurance, travel allowances and stipend. The programme is a Special Industry Initiative (SII) for the hill state, funded by Ministry of Home Affairs and implemented by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). The scheme aims to reach out to 40,000 youth and provide them with jobs and skill development over a period of five years.
