Nepal, June 24 (ANI): National Front of 33 parties has asked the Nepal government to make necessary arrangement for using a single symbol for its constituent parties in the upcoming elections. During talks between the front and the government at Singha Durbar on Thursday, the fringe parties asked the government to amend the laws related to elections, so they could use a single symbol during the polls. The front had boycotted the Constituent Assembly elections in 2014. Front leaders said they were ready to take part in the elections to the local, provincial and federal bodies, but the government should help them by removing legal obstructions. Leaders of the front reached Singha Durbar on an invitation of Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli, calling them for talks. The Prime Minister, however, assigned his deputy Kamal Thapa and Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transportation, Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar, to head the talks on behalf of the government and left the meeting citing health problems. Meanwhile, Gachchhadar assured the front leaders that their issues would be addressed after discussion with other government stakeholders. The front has demanded the government to form a commission to solve the problems of farmers, workers and unemployed people and to bring inflation and black marketing under control.
