Friends and family of Angel Candelario-Padro gathered to pay their respects to the 28 year old victim of the Orlando massacre. Mourners wept over his open casket on Saturday before a funeral procession in his home town of Guanica in Puerto Rico. Candelario-Padro was one of 49 people killed in the Pulse nightclub by gunman Omar Mateen one week ago. He was given a festive send-off with a horse-drawn carriage carrying his coffin leading a march through the town. Candelario-Pardo was a nurse, and had served in the Puerto Rican National Guard. Two uniformed American soldiers attended the funeral in honor of his service. One of them handed the flag that been draped over his coffin to Angel's aunt, Leticia Padro. The Orlando tragedy has hit Puerto Rico hard. Nearly half of the victims came from the small Caribbean island.
