The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild[a] is an upcoming action-adventure game in development by Nintendo for the Wii U and the company's upcoming home video game console, codenamed "NX." It is the nineteenth main installment in the The Legend of Zelda series and the first originalZelda game developed with a high-definition resolution. The game will feature an open world in which players can find different ways to approach areas.
The game has been in development since at least 2013 and was originally announced with a 2015 release date. The game is currently set for release sometime in 2017.
