What were once famous conspiracy theories are now real and horrifying historic events that actually happened!
Description:
Conspiracy theories are mixed with both fiction and truth. Many times, people will automatically chalk up conspiracy theories as being completely untrue, unaware that their government or even their next door neighbor could be betraying them. From aliens to secret government projects to justify wars, conspiracy theories flood not only the bookshelves with case studies, but also the internet and mainstream media, trying to reach out as many people as possible. The government and leaders of major corporations deal with conspiracy theories on a regular basis and pay none of these any care for the most part. But what happens when a conspiracy theory turns out to be true? There is a lot of damage control that has to take place, but it can do nothing to mend the shattered spirits of the people that were betrayed.
First, we have Project MKUltra, which was a series of government tests and experiments contracted to pharmaceutical companies and universities to create a mind control drug. If this isn’t alarming enough, unaware participates were forced to go through sleep deprivation and LSD trips; all in the name of trying to find out another way to control the human mind.
Operation Northwoods was a disturbing plan by the government to stage attacks against their own people as a means to justify going to war again Communist Cuba. The plan was about to be executed by the Joint Chiefs of Staff before it was nixed and eliminated. One can imagine that if this secret was ever carried out and then exposed, the American people would have lost a tremendous amount of faith in their government, causing a controversial uprising.
We all know the saying, “Remember remember the fifth of November”, which actually has real historical context. In 1605, Robert Catsby was plotting to kill the King of England by planting gunpowder underground all over the city. British soldiers caught wind of the plan, and discovered Guy Fawkes guarding about 36 barrels of gun powder. Today, the face of Fawkes has turned into a symbol of revolution and counter-culture. The movie, “V for Vendetta” has also popularized Fawkes’ face.
In 2013, Edward Snowden became an international fugitive after he exposed that the NSA was running a global surveillance program and spying on people, including other countries by tapping into their sensitive systems of communication. Some regard Snowden as an international hero while others regard him as a traitor to the United States. Then we have Operation Mockingbird, which was the government’s attempt at controlling the public and swaying their opinion. How on earth would they try to accomplish this? By buying out some of the most prominent journalists, magazines, and television programs in order to get them to present information as the government saw fit.
